Supporting Healthy Pregnancies & Strong Families
The Canada Prenatal Nutrition Program (CPNP) at Wabauskang First Nation provides support to expectant parents and new mothers to ensure a healthy pregnancy and strong start for their babies. Through education, nutrition assistance, and community support, we help promote maternal health and infant well-being.
How We Support Expectant Parents
Healthy Eating & Nutrition Support – Guidance on prenatal nutrition, meal planning, and access to food resources.
Prenatal & Postnatal Care – Education on pregnancy, labor, breastfeeding, and newborn care.
Traditional & Cultural Teachings – Learn about Indigenous birthing practices, traditional medicine, and parenting.
Emotional & Mental Well-Being – Support groups, counseling, and stress management for new and expectant parents.
Baby Supplies & Resources – Assistance with prenatal vitamins, food vouchers, and baby essentials for those in need.
Who Can Access This Program?
This program is available to pregnant individuals, new parents, and caregivers of infants under 12 months of age in the Wabauskang First Nation community. All services are free, voluntary, and confidential.
