May this be a beacon of community pride for many years to come! ❤️

On October 14th, 2026, friends from Treaty 3 Police came to community to deliver a presentation on workplace harassment.

It was very thought-provoking as they provided information on various types of workplace harassment and the complexities of how the Justice system approaches cases of harassment in First Nations.

Chi Miigwech to Treaty 3 Police for visiting us and a VERY special thank you to Rhonda F. And Savannah for preparing a lovely lunch of soup and sammiches! 😋

  • Presentations on the proposed amendments to the Wabauskang Community Trust Agreement and related By-laws, and on proposed amendments to the Wabauskang Minors Trust Agreement.

  • Explanation of the purpose of the proposed amendments, including:

    1. Increasing the money available for yearly cash distributions to Members, and

    2. Allowing minor Members who turn 18 to receive their Minors Trust payments sooner.

  • Explanation of the Custom Ratification Process that will be used to allow members to voice their opinions in favour of or against the proposed substantive changes. In accordance with Article 12.3 of the Wabauskang Community Trust Agreement, the clarification changes only require a written opinion from legal counsel, which has been obtained.

The Wabauskang Community Trust Agreement was signed in 2016 to receive amounts paid by certain mining companies and was designed to allow both current and future generations of Members to benefit from these economic partners carrying on business in our traditional lands. In 2021, the Wabauskang Minors Trust was developed to administer distributions to minor Members the year after they turn 18. Since the development of the Trusts, funds have grown every year for the benefit of current Members and future generations.
